Holistic Pediatric Dentistry in Edmonton

At Holistic Smiles Dental Wellness, we are dedicated to providing a supportive, and effective environment for your child’s dental care. In line with our commitment to personalized and respectful service, we have established clear guidelines for paediatric dentistry to ensure the best possible outcomes for all families.
Patient Eligibility & Cooperative Care
Current Patient Policy: We gladly accept child patients of parents or guardians who are already established patients at our clinic.

Cooperation Matters: Dental procedures require the child’s willingness to participate. If a child is unable or unwilling to sit calmly, open their mouth, or otherwise makes dental care unsafe or ineffective (for example, jumping around or refusing care), treatment cannot proceed.

Consent and Comfort: We respect every child’s will and will only proceed with care when the child gives consent or shows readiness to cooperate.

Appointment Protocols & Fees
Parent Preparation: Please prepare your child for each dental appointment. If a child is uncooperative or unwilling to be treated during the booked appointment, the reserved time will still incur a fee. If the schedule allows and additional time is required to continue working with your child during the same visit, an additional fee will be applied to cover the extended appointment time.

Professional Boundaries: We uphold a professional, positive, and respectful atmosphere at all times. Aggressive or rude behavior from parents or guardians is not tolerated. This includes interference during treatment, which can distress both the child and our team, and disrupt necessary care.

Parental Conduct & Boundaries
Respectful Environment: An agitated parent can unintentionally agitate both the child and dental team. Please remain calm and allow our specialists to engage with your child. If parental behavior becomes disruptive or uncooperative, you may be asked to step outside the treatment room.

Supportive Presence: Parents who follow protocols and respect team boundaries are welcome to remain in the dental room, provided they remain seated and do not interfere with treatment. This helps your child feel supported while enabling our team to focus on providing care.

Support During Discomfort: If your child experiences discomfort during a procedure, you may approach them for a moment of encouragement, provided this is done calmly and at the dentist’s invitation.
